Trinity Mittens
crochet pattern | $7.00 USD
Crochet a pair of cozy Trinity Mittens for yourself and everyone you love with this crochet pattern featuring five sizes from toddler to adult large. Designed for warmth, comfort, and everyday wear, these richly textured mittens are a timeless accessory you’ll reach for throughout the cold-weather months.
Worked in the ever-popular trinity stitch, these mittens feature clusters that are often compared to tiny flowers or stars, creating beautiful texture with every stitch. The stitch also produces a dense, durable fabric that provides excellent insulation, making it an ideal choice for mittens that are as practical as they are beautiful.
Thoughtfully designed to help you crochet with confidence, this premium pattern includes clear written instructions, stitch counts, stitch charts, reference photos, and a dedicated Trinity Stitch Basics guide, along with additional photo and video tutorials for extra support whenever you need it.
How These Mittens Are Made
These mittens are worked from the cuff up. The cuff is crocheted flat in rows of half double crochet slip stitches worked through the back loop only to create a stretchy ribbed band, then slip stitch seamed to form a tube. The mitten body is worked seamlessly in the round from the top of the cuff to the fingertips, with shaping carefully designed to preserve the flowing Trinity Stitch texture. A thumb opening is created as you work, and the thumb is completed afterward by crocheting directly into the opening. Finally, the cuff is folded up for extra warmth and a polished, finished look.
Pattern is written in US crochet terms.

Suggested Yarn Substitutes
Sample was made with medium-weight wool, but feel free to substitute the medium-weight yarn of your choice. Smooth, moderately spun acrylic, wool, or wool-blend yarns are recommended for this design, as they help the trinity stitch stand out and are less prone to splitting. Other fiber types can absolutely be used, but it is suggested to avoid very slick, fuzzy, or loosely spun yarns, as they may make the stitch definition less distinct and be more difficult to work with.
Lighter or heavier weight yarns may also be used. A different weight yarn may require a different size hook, as well as more or less yarn than noted. Working with a thinner or thicker yarn may result in different gauge measurements, which will affect the Finished Measurements. Working a gauge swatch is recommended (instructions provided in pattern).
