Crochet is my love language.

My mom taught me to crochet when I was around six years old, but it wasn’t until I was in my early 20s that I learned again and really got hooked. I had just graduated from college and moved across the country, far away from home. One of the highlights of this time was when my mom came to spend the week with me. I’ll never forget sitting with her on the old secondhand couch in my studio apartment, as she lovingly and patiently re-taught me how to make a granny square.

Once I got the hang of it, I just couldn’t stop! I probably made a dozen granny square blankets during that time. I mailed some of these to friends and family across the country. It helped me feel closer to them during those first few lonely years living in a new town. Eventually I made new friends, and they, of course, all got blankets too!

It seems that crochet is my love language. The way I most deeply connect with people and feel most loved is by creating something thoughtful with yarn.

It’s no secret that blankets are my favorite thing to design. There are just so many reasons to love them! Making a blanket for someone, you find yourself thinking of them throughout the long process, stitching in your love as you go. You recall the memories of your times with them. You imagine their face when they receive your blanket and how they may treasure it whenever you’re apart. The blanket may even go on to become a family heirloom, passed down through generations. I am humbled and honored whenever I hear your stories of the blankets you’ve made for the special people and events in your life. I want to keep designing blankets that celebrate those cherished connections. To me, there’s nothing more akin to a hug than cuddling up in a treasured blanket to feel the love that’s stitched in.

Let’s crochet something special!

I take great care in creating patterns that are easy to follow so that you will be successful. Each of my patterns has been edited by a professional technical editor who works for some of the top publishers in the industry. A typical pattern takes nearly 100 hours to produce, from designing the item and choosing yarn to crocheting the sample (sometimes several times!), editing, testing, taking photos, laying out the pattern, and organizing the information in a format that is easy to follow. Most of my patterns include step-by-step photo and video tutorials to guide you through the project.

My hope is that these efforts will make it easy for you to crochet something special, help you learn new skills, and create a finished project that you will be proud to show off.

Here’s a little of what you can expect from my patterns:

• All patterns are written in US terms, using abbreviations outlined by the Craft Yarn Council. You can find a list of abbreviations, as well as conversion to UK/Canadian terms here: https://www.craftyarncouncil.com/standards/crochet-abbreviations

• Each of my patterns has been edited by a technical editor who works for some of the top crochet publishers in the industry. We try our hardest to get everything perfect, but if you do find a mistake, please let me know.

• Most of my patterns are suitable for the confident beginner crocheter and beyond. This means you should be comfortable working basic stitches like the chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet. You should also be familiar with reading short pattern sequences and working with simple increases, decreases, and color changes.

• For the more complicated parts of a project, I've included explanations and photo tutorials for stitches and techniques beyond the basics.

• If you have questions or need assistance along the way, please feel free to message me here. I’m always happy to help.

I hope you enjoy using my patterns to create heirloom-quality items that you and your loved ones will treasure.
