crochet pattern | $4.50 USD

Make your grocery store runs and farmer’s market mornings a little sweeter with the Sweet Season Produce Bag! These reusable cotton bags are the perfect eco-conscious swap for plastic produce bags, and they make every outing feel a bit more intentional and stylish.

The pattern includes instructions for three sizes, so whether you’re picking up a few apples or stocking up on citrus, you’ll have the perfect bag on hand.

With simple stitches and an easy-to-memorize 6-row repeat, you’ll find this project to be relaxing, quick, and satisfying.

How These Bags Are Made

This pattern guides you through crocheting your own set of produce bags, each worked flat in one piece from the bottom up. The design combines a block stitch with airy mesh, forming horizontal lace stripes that are both classic and chic.

Once the body of the bag is complete, you’ll join the sides and bottom with single crochet, then finish it off with a crochet drawstring to keep everything secure.

Washable, sturdy, and endlessly reusable, these bags aren’t just a practical project—they’re a small step toward a more sustainable way to shop, made with your own two hands.

Suggested Yarn Substitutes
Feel free to substitute any size 3 mercerized cotton crochet thread for the brand listed above. Lighter or heavier weight yarns may also be used. A different weight yarn may require a different size hook, as well as more or less yarn than noted. Working with a thinner or thicker yarn may result in different gauge measurements, which will affect the Finished Measurements. Crocheting a gauge swatch with your alternative yarn is recommended.
