Introducing the Botany Blanket!
Taking inspiration from botanical prints and paintings, Victorian textiles and wallpaper design, and the latest trends in cottage décor, my new crochet blanket is a celebration of the floral stripe pattern.
Floral stripe patterns have been used in wallpaper and linens for centuries. The combination tends to add a romantic, poetic, cozy-cottage feel to a room.
In the Botany Blanket, these vintage floral stripes are made with hexagon, square, and triangle motifs.
Tonal yarn colors add depth to the flowers and leaves, which pop against a natural white background. Each motif is outlined in a corresponding color so that when the motifs are joined, bold floral stripes appear. The unique layout of this blanket creates a scalloped edge on the short sides, perfect for draping over a bed.
Choose from two sizes: instructions for a large throw and lapghan are included.

Cozy Textures Aghan Kit Club now available from Annie's
When the folks at Annie’s asked me to design an afghan that explores textured crochet stitches, I couldn’t wait to get started. I love playing with crochet texture! I made sure to include all my favorite stitches in this design – from clusters, popcorns, and picots to post stitches, shells, and fans. Not only is the Cozy Textures Crochet Afghan filled with touchable texture, but worked in a range of eye-catching jewel tones, this cheerful blanket is entertaining from start to finish.
Read this special newsletter announcement to learn more about the afghan and how the kit club works, plus get a behind-the-scenes look at the year-long design process for this blanket and an exclusive interview with me.

New Pattern and Video: Shadow Plaid Wrap
A relaxing, meditative make, the Shadow Plaid Wrap is the project you’ll reach for at the end of the day to help you unwind.
Construction: This trapezoidal wrap is worked lengthwise from the bottom up with increases at the beginning and end of each row.
Stitch pattern: A variation of granny stitch, you’ll work (ch 1, 2 dc) in each chain-1 space between 2-dc groups.
Colorwork: Tapestry crochet is used to create the vertical stripe pattern. You’ll change colors after every 2-dc group.
Working into chain spaces like this gives the fabric a lovely, soft drape — perfect for large accessories like this wrap. And best of all, the fabric is completely reversible. Whether worn around the neck or around the shoulders, this wrap is a lot of fun to style and wear!
Shop the pattern on Etsy and Ravelry.
I also put together a detailed video tutorial to help you along. Watch the video to learn how to work into the back bars of a foundation chain, how to use tapestry crochet to change color with double crochet stitches, and how to change color at the beginning of the row. You’ll also learn some useful tips to help you maintain an even tension and prevent your yarns from getting tangled.

New Pattern and Video: Heel-out Socks for Crochet World
The “Heel-out Socks” pattern is featured in the Autumn 2024 issue of Crochet World magazine.
Ever have trouble crocheting socks that fit your ankles just right. Then this is the sock pattern for you! Worked from the heel out, this design allows you to customize a stretchy instep for a comfortable fit.
For this unique sock construction, you start by working the heel, ankle, and gusset with increases on each side. Next, you crochet a flap using half double crochet ribbing to the desired length for the instep (the bridge across the top of your foot). You then join the instep flap to the opposite gusset. The foot is worked by crocheting around the bottom opening, and the leg is worked by crocheting around the top opening. Finally a simple ribbed cuff is worked off of the top edge of the leg.
