Introducing the Fresh Mesh Produce Bag Crochet Pattern

I’m so excited to share the news that the Fresh Mesh Produce Bag pattern is now available! And what better day than the Summer Solstice to release a pattern for a reusable mesh grocery bag. Let’s celebrate by making some veggie bags and help cut back on our plastic use. They’re quick and fun to make, and with 6 unique filet crochet designs to choose from, you can customize your bag to suit your style.

How This Bag Is Made

• This bag is worked in one piece from the bottom up.

• Simple eyelets along the top edge allow for the addition of a drawstring.

• Next, it’s folded lengthwise and seamed on the bottom and side.

• Finally, the drawstring is added. Instructions for two options are given: choose from a crochet drawstring or a readymade option.

Materials for One Bag

• KnitPicks Curio No. 3 lace weight 100% mercerized cotton (295 yds/270 m; 3.5 oz/100 g per ball): 1 ball of #27999 Bare

  One bag requires approx. 148–177 yds (50–60 g)

• Size C/2/2.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge

• Tapestry needle

• 5/8 inch (16 mm) wooden barrel bead with 5/16 inch (7.5–8 mm) hole (pictured) (optional for crochet drawstring)

• No. 425/3 mm-diameter paracord: 28 inches (0.71 m) (optional for readymade drawstring)

• 2-hole cord lock with 3 mm or larger holes (optional for readymade drawstring)

• Lighter or super glue (optional for readymade drawstring)
