Trinity Stitch Adventures & Christmas in July

I have so much to share with you today. We’ve got a fantastic event coming up next month, and I’ve just released a brand-new video tutorial to help us get ready for it!

If you had asked me about Trinity Stitch a year ago, I probably would have assumed you were talking about one of the many cluster stitch patterns that create beautiful star-shaped textures, such as the Marguerite or Jasmine Stitch. As much as I admire those stitches, I’ve always found them a little fussy. Trinity Stitch delivers a similar star-like texture in a much simpler way, and after spending some time with it, I think it might just be the easiest member of the star stitch family.

It’s been a real joy getting to know this stitch over the past few months. I’ve explored different methods for working it in rows and in the round, experimented with shaping techniques, and discovered new ways to adapt it for a variety of projects. I’m currently figuring out how to work the stitch in square and hexagon motifs, opening the door to even more design possibilities.

The more I discover, the more convinced I become that Trinity Stitch is one of crochet’s most versatile, and perhaps most overlooked, stitches. The fabric is textured, reversible, and wonderfully cozy. It works beautifully for everything from cold-weather accessories to home décor and blankets. Quite frankly, I think we should all be using it more often!

That realization has inspired a new design journey. Over the coming year, I plan to release a variety of Trinity Stitch patterns, each one highlighting a different aspect of the stitch. Along the way, I’ll be sharing the techniques, tips, and tools I’ve developed so you can confidently explore the stitch right alongside me.

And that journey begins today.

New Video Tutorial: Trinity Stitch Basics

To help you get started, I’ve just released the first video in what I hope will become a comprehensive Trinity Stitch resource library.

In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the fundamentals of working Trinity Stitch in rows, including two different row methods, stitch placement, and troubleshooting tips to help you avoid common mistakes. More importantly, I’ll help you understand how the stitch is constructed so you’ll feel confident using it in future projects.

One of the things I love most about Trinity Stitch is that it looks far more complicated than it actually is. Once you understand where the stitches go and how the clusters are formed, the pattern develops into a relaxing, rhythmic crochet experience.

Whether you’ve never tried Trinity Stitch before or you’ve struggled with it in the past, this video will give you a solid foundation for the projects we’ll be making together over the coming months.

Christmas in July Starts July 10!

Now for the part I’ve been especially excited to share...

Beginning July 10, we’ll kick off my first-ever Christmas in July event! Throughout the month, I’ll be releasing a series of brand-new Trinity Stitch patterns, each designed to explore a different technique, shaping method, and creative possibility for this wonderfully versatile stitch.
