How has the changing season been treating you? I hope you’ve been able to slow down and enjoy a few sunny moments lately. I know that’s something I’ve been reminding myself to do more often too.

This month has been wonderfully busy behind the scenes as I finish several new patterns and continue planning the next stages of the wildflower blanket for the months ahead. I’m excited to share a brand-new stitch tutorial, a cozy blanket design, and an in-depth look at Trinity Stitch, along with a little sneak peek at a special summer crochet event coming next month.

Meet the Rocking Puff V-Stitch

A few years ago, I discovered a stitch pattern in an old book of crochet charts that immediately caught my attention. After working up a swatch, I was hooked. The fabric was soft, squishy, and full of beautiful texture. It’s the kind of stitch that makes you want to keep crocheting “just one more row.”

The Rocking Puff V-Stitch is a playful variation on the classic Puff V-Stitch. By working into the double crochet itself instead of the chain space, the double crochet stitches create neat vertical lines while the puff stitches gently lean back and forth in a subtle rocking motion.

From the very beginning, I knew this stitch deserved to become a blanket, and I’m so excited to finally share that the My Little Nest Blanket is almost here…

Cozy Up with the My Little Nest Blanket

The My Little Nest Blanket was designed to feel like a quiet retreat — a cozy project with a soothing rhythm of textured Rocking Puff V-Stitches and smooth double crochet.

The border is worked seamlessly alongside the center panel, allowing the blanket to grow continuously without extra finishing. The result is a soft, fully reversible fabric with plenty of texture and a clean, timeless look.

Like the Hand in Hand Blanket, this pattern includes instructions for 16 thoughtfully proportioned sizes, from small baby blankets to generous throws. I can’t wait to share more of this cozy little nest with you later this month.

A Deeper Look at Trinity Stitch

Over the past year, I’ve completely fallen in love with Trinity Stitch. After designing several upcoming patterns with this beautiful texture, I’m excited to finally share a brand-new in-depth video all about working with it.

Trinity Stitch is known for its eye-catching clusters that resemble tiny stars or flowers, creating a wonderfully textured fabric with a soft, cozy feel.

In the tutorial, I’ll cover working Trinity Stitch in rows and rounds, along with increases, decreases, and the types of projects this stitch is best suited for.

This tutorial arrives at the perfect time, because next month, I’ll be kicking off a special Christmas in July series featuring three brand-new Trinity Stitch patterns!

Maker’s Spotlight

This month’s Maker Spotlight celebrates a lovely Fresh Mesh Produce Bag made by Maryanna (knotmaryanna on Ravelry).

Maryanna’s crisp stitches and clean finishing really make the floral filet design shine. I always love seeing how different crocheters bring their own touch to these bags, and this one feels especially polished. Nice work, Maryanna!
