Crochet with Me in the Mountains

Hey there, crochet friend!

I hope your week has been full of small, happy moments. I’ve been looking forward to sharing a little treat with you: a peaceful moment with stitching, music, and the beauty of the mountains.

Earlier this month, on a gorgeous, sunny day, I packed my hiking bag with yarn, hooks, and a colorful crochet project and headed up into the mountains. One of my favorite trails winds through tall pines, and at the end of it, there’s a quiet spot with a bench beneath the trees where I like to settle in and stitch for a while.

There’s just something about crocheting outside — the sound of the breeze, the birds, the rhythm of your hands — that melts away stress and fills you right back up again. I always leave feeling grounded and refreshed.

On this trip, though, I had a special mission: to bring you along with me. You may remember from this month’s newsletter that I was planning to film a Crochet With Me video. I’m so happy to share that it’s ready!

A Little About Crochet With Me Videos

These gentle, no-talking videos are meant to create a cozy, communal crafting space — a chance to simply crochet together in quiet company. With soft music and the sounds of nature in the background, they invite you to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy the rhythm of your stitches.

Many people find that watching someone else stitch makes it easier to focus and feel connected, even from afar. My hope is that this video offers that same kind of peaceful companionship for you.

In this 45-minute video, we’ll sit together in my favorite mountain spot. You’ll hear birdsong and a soft breeze in the trees while calming instrumental music plays. The light shifts through the branches, and before you know it, we’re simply crocheting — side by side, surrounded by color and calm.

While I was filming, I kept thinking about all of you — and how much joy and comfort this community brings me. My hope is that this video gives us a shared moment of stillness and connection, wherever you happen to be stitching today.

And in case you’re wondering what I’m working on in the video — it’s my Huzzah Cluster Ripple Blanket! I’m almost done with the sample, and it’s been such a joyful make. The Lion Brand Ferris Wheel yarn is pure magic in this pattern — self-striping, vibrant, and full of life. Keep an eye out for the pattern release at the end of November.
