Every Blanket Has a Story

I love hearing from crocheters about the pieces they make with my patterns. It continues to inspire me to see the thoughtful choices and personal touches that make each project truly your own.

Over time, those messages have shown me something deeper: handmade pieces carry more than just stitches. Every blanket holds a story — of time, growth, intention, or love. Sometimes that story is tied to a special celebration, like a gift for someone dear. Other times, it’s about personal milestones, such as learning a new technique, building confidence, or simply creating something beautiful for your own home.

When I look at my own collection of blankets, I see those stories everywhere. The quilt my mom made from the fabric of my childhood dresses. The blanket my Nana crocheted, draped over her couch through years of family memories. And the pieces I’ve made myself, each one marking a specific season of my life. So many personal threads are worked into every project.

One of my most beloved designs — the one that seems to hold especially meaningful stories — is the Double Wedding Ring Blanket. Today, I’m sharing three beautiful versions made by fellow crocheters. Each one reflects a different kind of journey, from learning and perseverance to celebration and personal joy.

Three Blankets, Three Stories

This gorgeous blanket was stitched by Aly for her home, and I’m so impressed by the care and precision in her work.

There’s something especially meaningful about a project that builds your confidence along the way. Those are the ones you remember long after the last end is woven in.

Andrea (Anedera on Ravelry)

Andrea’s beautiful white blanket feels both timeless and inviting, with such a soft, elegant finish.

Cristina (guardiolacristina on Ravelry)

Cristina’s blanket immediately caught my eye with its unique and creative border.

As she shared in her project notes, she ran out of yarn and had to adapt, and the result is incredibly thoughtful. By finishing the border with white and blue stripes and adding a delicate bobble detail where the arcs meet, she created something truly special.
